Wheat Carrot Alva
Tevaiyanapporutkal:
Wheat flour - 1/2 cup
Carrots (Medium Size) - 2
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 3 to 4 tablespoons
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tbsp
Cashews - a little
Method:
Wash the carrots, comb the skin and cut into medium sized pieces. Boil the sliced carrots with a little water and mix them in a mixer once it has cooled.
Leave the ghee in a heavy skillet, put the wheat flour in it and fry until it smells good on a moderate fire. Then add the sliced carrots and stir. Add sugar, stirring constantly.
When the sugar is well mixed and the alwaa comes into the bowl like a ball, add the cardamom powder and, if necessary, pour a little more ghee into a bowl or platter with ghee. Sprinkle the cashews into small pieces and top with the alwa.
